Baleshwar temple
Baleshwar is the most artistic temple of the district. There are evidences to the effect that the group of temples dedicated to Baleshwar, Ratneshwar and Champawat. The temple once had intricate structural features and a sanctuary with a ‘mandap’. The intricate carvings still visible on the ceilings of these temple are an evidence of their ancient glory and artistic excellence.
Gwal Devta
A deity of widespread faith and influence, Gwal Davta also known as Goril or Goll, is considered to be the presiding deity of justice. It is believed that when approached, Gwal devta dispenses justice to a helpless victim of injustice and cruelty. Historically, Goril a Katyuric prince of Champawat, known for his unwavering justice and play, was himself a victim of planned conspiracy hatched up by his step mother, who had him thrown into a river, locked up in an iron cage. Held in high esteem as a symbol of justice, a temple was constructed in his honour after his demise at Golchaurh in Champawat. Ever since, he has grown into a deity of great influence. The temple attracts innumerable pilgrims round the year.
Devidhura
At a distance of 45kms. from Lohaghat, Devidhura is famous for its Barahi temple where the traditional Bagwal (fair) is held once every year on the festival of Raksha Bandhan.
Abbot Mount
Remarkable for its scenic beauty, Abbot Mount is 11kms. from Lohaghat at an elevation of 2001mts. dotted with British period bungalows.
Kranteshwar Mahadev
To the east of Champawat, the temple dedicated to Kranteshwar Mahadev is situated on the top of a lofty hill. It is also called Kurmapad and Kandev.
Mayawati Ashram
22kms. from Champawat and 9kms. from Lphaghat, this ashram is situated at an altitude of 1940mts.Mayawati shot into prominence after the Advaita ashram was established here. The ashram attracts spiritualists from India and abroad.
Vanasur-Ka-Kila
This fort is situated at elevation of 1859mts. 7kms. from Lohaghat and 20kms. from Champawat.(Lohaghat to Karnakarayat is 6kms. by bus and Karnakarayat to Vanasur ka kila 1km.by foot).
Shyamla Tal
1500mts. above sea level, Shyamlatal is 132kms. from Pithoragarh and 56kms. from Champawat. Swami Vivekananda ashram is located here at the bank of the lake. The blue coloured lake of Shyamlatal is spread over an area of about one & a half sq.km. This place has some ruins dating back to the days of the early Chand rulers and others which were associated with the Pandavas.
LOHAGHAT
At an elevation of 1706mts. Lohaghat is 62kms. away from Pithoragarh on way to tanakpur and 14kms. from Champawat district headquarters. Lohaghat which is situated on the bank of river Lohawati is a yoticentre of historical and mythological importance.

At a height of 3000mts. above sea level Purnagiri is 20kms. from tanakpur, 171kms. from Pithoragarh &92kms. from Champawat. Purnagiri temple is visited throughout the year by devotees from all parts of the country. It is a common belief that every devotee who comes here with sincere faith has his prayer answered. In view of its importance as a famous and holy shrine, the devotees flock here in very large numbers, particularly during Chaitra Navratri in the month of March.
People climbing up to the top for darshan can be heard singing hymns in praise of the Goddess with great fevour. The surrounding valleys echo with the holy chantings, creating an atmosphere of spirituality and other-worldly charm.

MEETHA REETHA SAHIB
The place is situated at a distance of 72kms. from Champawat. It is said that Guru Nanak had visited this place and held spiritual discussions with Gorakhpanthi Jogis. The Gurudwara was constructed in 1960 at the confluence of Lodhiya and Ratiya rivers, near village Deyuri. There are trees of sweet Ratha(sapindus emarginatus) in the Gurudwara premises adjoining it is Temple of Dhernath . A fair is hald at the Gurudwara on Vaishakhi Purnima.
